In today’s economy, there is great demand for such operations, as more families and individuals struggle to afford to feed themselves, let alone a horse or two. It’s very sad to see horses come into White rock Ranch with ribs and hip bones sticking out, but I still enjoy shooting this film immensely. I love the opportunity to shut off the camera, and to pop onto one of the recovered horses for a ride. It’s great to see horses as they do indeed recover their health. I have fallen in love with some of the horses there, and they can be very sweet.

It’s also great to be out in nature, away from the city, and under the clear dark skies at night. In Yucca Valley and surrounding communities, one can clearly see the Milkyway, our home galaxy, once the moon falls below the horizon. So this is my latest adventure.

I have been shooting miles and gigabytes of footage, indeed. I have been very focused too. That is my latest update. You can see I have been engaged in my work, and not so much online here.

Note: I haven’t blogged here much, because my main focus are my numerous cameras. Pun done on purpose! Feature films and documentaries are rolling from my film and video cameras right now …

Here is the latest on my movie: It has just been to Cannes, and it also won Best of Sci-fi at the New York International Film Festival. We had premiered only a couple of months ago, in LA, and it’s making it’s film festival rounds right now. We have been picked up for distribution, and we’re presently target marketing the European market right now.

My personal update: I’m right in the last phases of moving up to Hollywood to be closer in to my work. My newest projects are a Horror in pre-production and a science documentary in pre. We are still working on another documentary as well. And it’s not really news to say that I am very very busy, because, I’m always busy!

I just added a Sony HD cam and a lot of helmet cams to my equipment, as well as a mobile DAT sound recording unit. I’m learning Final Cut Pro, Blender and Sony Vegas Pro at this time.

Hopefully, summer will allow me the time for some fun flying and a bit of surfing. We’ll see!

First of all, here is some very good news. We indeed get our feature movie DEFCON 2012 into completion, into print and on screen!

We had our premiere about a month ago, and it went well. I had to do some very last minute tweaks on the sound, and I was nervous right up to the day before the premiere. It was that very day, inside of 24 hours to screen time, that the movie was finally delivered to the theater! If you ever wanted to witness a nervous producer, just see me at the nearby Starbucks! But are not most producers nervous over their movies? Soon I’ll post some pictures.

A couple of nights after the premiere of my movie, I went to the Global Green Oscar party, which you’ll see pictures soon. That went very well too. I had a great time. Now our movie has been picked up by distribution, and we’re more than likely going to Cannes.

Very recently, we won Best of Sci-fi at the New York Int’l Film Festival!

This video in very interesting and something we should be aware of. We should not be too much of an alarmist, but pay attention and prepare our businesses and homes for a large volcanic event in Yellowstone. If this one had a super eruption, one making an impact on people hundreds of miles away – ask yourself how well are you prepared? We’re in a time of a lot earth movement, and this should be a time to talk to employees and family on an emergency plan.

As a hobby, I study volcanos and earthquakes a lot. I live near a few volcanos, one that is pretty active. I find them actually, rather amazing. They are simply just new ground being made.

Later, at 18, I enlisted in the USAF, and the travels really began. First it was boot camp in San Antonio, Texas, and then all over America. I also became a pilot, and the flying has taken me to yet more destinations. I have seen the San Andreas Fault from the air, the Grand Canyon and the Alps. I have seen some very beautiful sights from the air!

Also, I have lived and worked in Ireland, Russia and Germany – and some other countries. Germany has my favorite, and Ireland was fun, but the weather sucked. Russia was a challenge for me, but I found the people very generous, spirited and interesting. I learned to speak a little Russian while in Russia too, and learned how to cook many of their amazing dishes. Russian food totally rocks!

Many of you have heard me all over Facebook, for I work in a space surrounded with all kinds of PC’s and Macs. I own a few computers myself. We almost always have Pandora on, and Facebook and Twitter up. If I pull my eyes away from my work on my creative stuff, and divert for a few seconds, it seems to help.

But I have to say I find Facebook distracting and I have to sometimes place myself off line. I hate to have to chat when I am on creative streak. A lot people don’t understand the isolated moments creative people have while they are working.

And then there is The Other Life, my very linear and logical life – flying. I live in two worlds, that of creativity, and that of technology and machines. I love both, and in my created projects, you see a lot of mechanical things. I love sci-fi for this reason. One can mix engineering and machines with art.

So that was a quick bit of early morning typing before I go off to the job of flying, boring holes in the sky and raising hell.
